New Delhi says that raising the bilateral cooperation to strategic partnership between India and Saudi Arabia is an important milestone of Prime Minister's visit to Riyadh last week. Making a suo moto statement in the Lok Sabha today, External Affairs Minister Mr. S.M. Krishna said that the strategic partnership will foster greater cooperation in the areas of security, economic, defence and political areas. He said that the two leaders emphasised to further strengthen energy partnership and agreed to work towards meeting the vast requirements in the areas of infrastructure and development. This, the two leaders said can be accelerated by augmenting the flow of investments into each others countries. Mr. Krishna said that the two sides urged the international community to resolutely combat the menace of terrorism and agreed to enhance cooperation in exchange of information relating to terrorist activities, money laundering and human trafficking. The two sides signed an extradition treaty and four other pacts during the visit, apart from agreements in the areas of business, research and education, media information technology. Describing the Prime Minister's visit as highly successful, he said as a special gesture he was invited to address Majlis Al Shoura and interacted with a cross sections of Indian community there.<br/>
