Strategic cooperation will be focus of discussions between the Foreign Ministers of India, Oman

India and Oman are all set to give a big boost to the bilateral strategic cooperation. Enhancing defence and security cooperation besides trade and investment will be the focus of the talks between the visiting Omanese Foreign Minister Yusuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah and his Indian counterpart S M Krishna later this evening. The two countries have already completed formalities for setting up a joint investment fund to intensify economic ties. The fund will be operational soon and will operate from Mumbai. This is for the first time when India has decided to set up a fund with any country in the world. During his stay in New Delhi the Foreign Minister of Oman will call on the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and exchange views on the important bilateral issues. AIR correspondent reports, despite the impact of global economic melt down the non-oil bilateral trade touched 4.5 billion dollars last fiscal.
