New Delhi says it had received general not specific information regarding Mumbai terror attacks from US. External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna was responding to a question on the revelation made by the wife of Richard Headley, the mastermind behind the attacks.Headly's wife recently said that she had informed the security establishment in the United States about the possible terror strikes. The External Affairs Minister however made it clear that India and United States enjoy excellent relations which have transformed in the last several years. He added that the two countries have strengthened their cooperation in the areas of terrorism and security. In response to another question, S.M. Krishna said that Foreign Minister level talks between India and Pakistan may be held in the first quarter of next year. He elaborated that he has invited his Pakistani counterpart to visit India who has accepted his invitation. Giving details about Wednesday’s discussions with his Omanese counterpart, the External Affairs Minister said the talks focussed on strengthening economic and commercial ties between the two countries. He was flanked by the visiting Omanese Foreign Minister Yusuf Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah. S.M. Krishna added that bilateral trade has grown to 45 billion US Dollars and the investments are worth 7.53 billion dollars made across thirteen sectors. He said there are over 1,500 joint ventures between the two countries. The Security and the Defence cooperation between the two countries also figured prominently in the discussions. In reply to a question the Omanese Foreign Minister said that India has a role in the security of the region and pleaded that Gulf Cooperation Council should invite India for the purpose. Krishna said that the two countries have witnessed enormous progress in the political understanding and dialogue and people to people contacts have increased. He appreciated the Sultanate of Oman for being fine hosts to over five lakh fifty thousand Indian nations living there and enriching the bilateral relations. Krishna described them as a vital link between the two countries. AIR correspondent reports that the two countries have signed an MoU for setting up a joint investment fund to invest in infrastructure sector in India. The fund will be operational soon and will operate from Mumbai.
