The three week long monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislature began on a stormy note today. The Maharashtra government plans to introduce seven new Bills in this session apart from processing 11 pending Bills. Discussions on many issues related to irrigation, female foeticide, Adarsh and many other issues are also expected.Meanwhile, the first day of the session was completely dominated by the Mantralaya fire issue. AIR correspondent the Mantralaya fire issue raged heavily on the first day of the Maharashtra Legislature today. The Maharashtra Assembly and the Council have been adjourned for the day after the opposition’s noisy and aggressive demand for a discussion on the issue was dismissed. The Maahrashtra Council too was adjourned for the day after passing a condolence motion related to the death of four members.
