<br/>The Woman and Child Development Ministry today strongly advocated stringent monitoring and action to stop female foeticide in the country. Talking to reporters after a function on the eve of the National Girl Child Day, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs Krishna Tirath said that small health centers across the country are illegally conducting sex determination test. She said her Ministry would ask the Health and Home Ministry to ensure proper vigil and strict action against such clinics. Earlier speaking at the function, Mrs Tirath said that her government is committed to providing all means for the girl child so that she is not taken as a burden by the society. Our correspondent adds that a number of programmes have been planned to celebrate the National Girl Child Day on Sunday.
