The key domestic share indices today ended with modest gains rising for the eighth session in a row. The BSE Sensex closed near 60,400 points while the NSE Nifty settled above the 17,800 level. Both benchmark indices gained amid mixed global cues.

The Sensex rose 235 points, or 0.39 percent, to finish at 60,393 while the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange gained 90 points, or 0.51 percent, to settle at 17,812.
