In Uttar Pradesh, special task force STF of state police has arrested six persons from Gautam Buddha Nagar district allegedly involved in fake currency racket. Police recovered fake currency notes of over 20 lakhs rupees from them. Two of them are from Malda district in West Bengal while other four are from Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh. Quoting STF sources our Allahabad correspondent reports that they have been arrested from Surajpur area of the district and 1470 fake notes of 1000 rupees denomination and 1160 notes of 500 rupees denomination have been recovered from them. Police has also recovered 4 lakh rupees from them allegedly meant for purchasing fake currency from suppliers. Arrested persons told the police that fake currency notes are being smuggled from neighbouring countries to distribute in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana and Delhi.
