Steps towards addressing road accident issue

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today said the number of road accidents have increased by 2.5 per cent in 2015 than the previous year. <br/><br/>Talking to media persons in Delhi, Mr Gadkari said his ministry is taking steps towards addressing this problem including passing of the Motor Vehicles Act with amendments in the coming session of the Parliament. <br/><br/>Mr Gadkari said ten per cent of Central Reserve Fund allocated to states under the Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana (PMSY) will be allocated for road safety.
