Asserting government’s commitment to develop Jammu and Kashmir on equitable basis irrespective of giving preference to any particular area or school of thought, the J&K Minister for Rural Development, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that steps are underway to develop the state as the model one. The Minister was addressing a mammoth gathering after inaugurating a model village at Jindrah-Dansal . Mr. Sagar while asking the people to participate in the coming Panchayati elections said that a special provision has been provided to the women folk as well by giving them 33% reservation. He said they should also ensure their participation as the same would broaden the scope of Panchayats and also ensure the full participation.Referring to the significant role of MGNREGA in poverty alleviation, employment generation and changing the rural landscape, Mr. Sagar said that the endeavours of the government has been appreciated nationally as well and J&K State has been judged as the number one state in its implementation.
