Government is in the process of setting up a Centre of Excellence for hockey at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Ajay Maken said this in New Delhi while releasing a book titled Glimpses of Indian Women Hockey authored by Hockey historian K Arumugam. Mr. Maken said that he has discussed about resource persons for the proposed Centre with the President of International Hockey Federation, Leandro Negre. The Minister also stressed the need for more people like Arumugam who can carry hockey forward with their zeal.
