Tamilnadu Chief Minister&nbsp;Edappadi Palaniswamy&nbsp;has said that steps are being taken in Tamilnadu to implement the Cauvery – Vaigai – Gundaru river inter linking plan at an estimated cost of Rs. 14,000 crore.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Speaking to media persons at Ramanathapuram today, the Chief Minister said that the ambitious plan is expected to benefit about one lakh acres of land.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''The 259 km river interlinking project will be taken up in three phases, enabling the proper use of water overflow in the Cauvery which is being released into the Bay of Bengal at present.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''Mr&nbsp;Palaniswamy<b>&nbsp;</b>also said that about 1500 cubic feet of water will be released into the Vaigai river at Idaikkattu village as part of the mega project.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, the Chief Minister presided over a review meeting at Ramanathapuram, inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs. 70 crore and distributed various Welfare scheme benefits.</span>
