Steel Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh directs PSUs to reduce production cost of steel through improvement in parameters

<span style="color: black;">The Union Steel Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh has reviewed the status of steel cost reduction in the production of PSUs and future action plans. During the meeting with officials of the PSUs from the steel sector, he emphasised on the need to carry out macro and microanalysis of the parameters affecting the production cost and leave no stone unturned to convert the adverse conditions into opportunities. Mr. Singh was directed to prepare a road map for cost reduction in the next six months. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The Minister also urged the PSUs to focus on the important cost-cutting measures including reduction in the coke rate and increase the use of pellets to reduce the consumption of coking coal and minimise the production cost. The measures being taken to increase efficiency, productivity and reduce the cost of production of the steel plants and mines as per national and global benchmarks were also discussed in the meeting.</span>
