Steadfast implementation of National Policy and Action Plan results in consistent decline in LWE violence

<span style="color: #222222;">The Government said a National Policy and Action Plan was launched in 2015 to address Left Wing Extremism -LWE menace holistically. In a written reply in Lok Sabha today, the Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said policy and action plan envisages a multi-pronged strategy involving security-related measures, development interventions, and ensuring rights and entitlements of local communities. He said steadfast implementation of this policy and action plan has resulted in a consistent decline in LWE violence across the nation.<br />''<br />''The Minister said the Centre supports the LWE-affected State Governments by providing Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Battalions, helicopters, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), training, and funds for modernization of State police forces, arms, and equipment, sharing of intelligence and construction of Fortified Police Station. He said the various schemes have been implemented to augment communication facilities in LWE-affected states. </span><br />
