Today is World Health Day. The day is being observed to mark the anniversary of founding of World health Organisation (WHO) in the year 1948. This year the theme of the Day is Ageing and Health: Good Health Adds Life to Years.
AIR correspondent reports that the focus of the day is to how a good health throughout life can help older men and women lead full and productive lives and be a resource for their families and communities.

In a message on the occasion of World Health Day in Chandigarh today, he said the National Programme for the Health Care for Elderly (NPHCE) has been implemented in four districts of the State, namely Mewat, Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamuna Nagar.
Hooda said the programme provided an easy access to promotional, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services to the elderly through community based healthcare approach.
The CM said the focus should be on how good health throughout the life could help older people to lead full and productive lives and be a resource for their families and communities.
