The statewide bandh called by the Joint Action Committee of workers' associations of the State Road Transport Corporation, SRTC, passed off peacefully across Telangana. <br />'' <br />'' The bandh was called to demand merger of the RTC with the state government and resolving pending issues relating to workers. <br />'' <br />'' The Bandh was supported by Opposition parties, including Congress, BJP and TDP, and teachers, employees, students and others. Police took dozens of leaders of various parties and scores of agitators into custody when they tried to protest in support of the bandh.<br />'' Meanwhile, commuters in Hyderabad and also across the state had to face severe inconvenience as no public transport was available owing to the Bandh.
