Cutting across political lines, the States have welcomed the implementation of the Right to Education bill, which had come into force from yesterday. The Landmark legislation have also been cheered by educationists and other Public-Private stake holders in the mammoth effort to ensure quality elementary education to Children.<br/><br/>The Delhi Government has welcomed the coming into force of the historic Right to Education law, providing free and compulsory schooling to children in the 6 to 14 year age bracket. Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said the government would strive hard to ensure total implementation of all the provisions of the legislation. Mr. Lovely said, the government is going to upgrade the infrastructure in the city schools. The Constitutional amendment and the new law of making education a fundamental right came into force from yesterday.<br/><br/>The Rajasthan Government will fill up all the vacant posts of teachers in schools in the State. Education Minister, Bhawar Lal Meghwal today informed the State Assembly that according to the provisions of the Right to Education Act, Part Time Teachers ( Shiksha Mitras) are being appointed in schools to maintain student-teacher ratio. AIR Correspondent reports that the government has started the process of recruitment of 50,000 teachers also.<br/><br/>In Gujarat, the State Government, Educationists and political parties have welcomed Right to Education Bill implemented from first of April. The State Congress President Mr. Sidharth Patel termed it as a historic step towards providing free and compulsory education to the children of poor and downtrodden people. The Principal Secretary of the State Education Department Mr. Hasmukh Adhiya said that the bill would facilitate free and quality education to all children. He said, that 25 percent reservation in private schools is difficult to implement, but the State Government will try it best from the coming academic year. The Educationists in the State have also welcomed the bill as big step forward for high literacy rate in the country.<br/><br/>Bihar government has welcomed the Centres move to implement Right to Education Act, but with caution. Human Resource Minister Hari Narayan Singh said that the state is ready to implement this act and reiterated that it will be difficult to implement in the true spirit unless the centre takes the bulk of the financial load. AIR Patna correspondent reports that the Bihar needs over 3 lakh teachers and about two lakh additional classrooms two implement Right to Education Act.<br/><br/>Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupender Singh Hooda today hailed the implementation of the historic Right to free and Compulsory Education to children in 6 to 14 years of age group.<br/><br/>In tribal-dominated Orissa, the state government has demanded more finaincial support from the Centre for proper implementation of Right to Education Act. Chief Minister of Orissa, Mr. Naveen Patnaik, is likely to place a number of demands before the Centre for fulfilling key requirements of the Act.
