States have started distribution of pulses, especially of Tur dal at reasonable prices. Consumer Affairs and Food Ministry in a release said that both in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Tur dal is being distributed at 50 rupees per kg for BPL and Antyoday Anya Yojna (AAY) families. While in Tamil Nadu Urad Dal and Canadian Lentils are being distributed at 30 rupees per kg for all. <br/><br/>In Haryana, two and half Kg Chana is being provided for BPL and AAY under Dal Roti scheme. The State Government has also directed HAFED to procure pulses from the market and sell at 50 rupees per kg through its sale counters. <br/><br/>In Himachal, Chana and Masoor are being sold at 50 rupees a kg through PDS outlets. Earlier the Center had asked the States to have meeting with millers, wholesalers and retailers in their area to make pulses available in retail markets at reasonable prices.<br/><br/>As per reports received, Gujarat Millers have agreed to supply Tur dal at 135 rupees per kg and retailers will sell it at 140 rupees. In Jharkhand, the rates of Tur Dal have been fixed at 140 rupees for wholesale and 145 rupees per kg for retails. In Chhattisgarh, it is being sold at 120 to 140 per kg across the state. In Dehradun, Haridwar, Udhamsing Nagar of Uttarakhand, Tur dal is available at 145 rupees per kg.
