States gear up to vaccinate Kids above 15 years from 3rd Jan, launches vaccination centres

<span style="color: #222222;">Amid surge in Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, the state government would be joining rest of the country to inoculate the most important segment of teenagers with the ambitious vaccination drive beginning today. All arrangements are in place in various districts of the state to vaccinate children between the age group of 15-18 years.<br />''<br />''AIR Correspondent reports, that The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has set up 9 dedicated vaccination centres to give jabs to the teenagers in the age group of 15 to 18 years, and almost all the centres can inoculate more than 500 to 1,000 beneficiaries in a day. Most centres have tied up with civic schools and they have appealed to the beneficiaries to visit the centre either with their teachers or their parents with necessary documents for age verification. Both online and offline registration facility is available at these centres. Similar arrangements have been made across the state and the drive is expected to receive a good response today as well as in the days to come.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Assam has joined the rest of the country in administering COVID 19 jabs to 15 to 18 years old teens. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the drive in a school at Duliajan while Health Minister Keshab Mahanta was present at Guwahati.  The Health Department has 15 to 20 vaccination centers in each district for the drive. There is a target to vaccinate nearly 20 lakh teens in the state. There are 14 lakh doses of COVAXIN vaccines available in the state at present while the additional 8. 16 lakh doses are expected to arrive tomorrow.</span><br />
