States have been asked to submit their Annual Plan for the next fiscal year to ensure timely and regular flow of funds and smooth completion of the rural development projects. In a letter send to the Chief Secretaries of all the States, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj has asked all states to prepare their Annual Action Plan latest by the end of this month. The Ministry has stressed that integrated planning of Backward Region Grant Fund, BRGF is necessary for ensuring better outcomes. BRGF is a platform for converging Central and State schemes and pooling diverse resources.AIR Correspondent reports that during the current financial year over 3257 crore rupees have been released to 238 out of 250 BRGF districts as Development funds out of the total Entitlement of 4420 crore rupees.
