States have been asked to set up special cells to deal with crime against women and children. Home Ministry sources said that prevention of crime against women is high on the priority list for the centre and all state governments have been instructed to play a pro active role in detection and investigation of crime against women. The centre has also asked the state governments to ensure that there is no delay in registration of FIR in all crime cases against women. Meanwhile, government figures show that crime against women have decreased in the National Capital. Data from the Home Ministry show that incidents of molestation in Delhi has decreased from 558 in 2008 to 492 in 2009. Incidents of eve teasing have decreased to 222 in 2009 as compared to nearly 300 in the previous year. The data shows marginal decrease in rape and murder cases as well.<br/>
