The Centre today said that statehood to Jammu and Kashmir will be restored at an appropriate time. This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. Mr. Rai said Delimitation Commission has notified orders in March and May this year on delimitation of Parliamentary and Legislative Assembly Constituencies of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. On the Assembly Election in Jammu and Kashmir, the Minister said, the decision to conduct elections is the prerogative of the Election Commission of India.
