State reorganization Bill: AP CM seeks more time for discussion in House

In Andhra Pradesh, several legislators have filed their affidavits in writing to the presiding officers of both the Legislative Assembly and Council expressing their opposition to the proposed bifurcation of the state.

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, several ministers and members who were opposing the state Reorganization Bill have submitted their affidavits due to the prevailing impasse in the proceedings and as the time given by the President of India comes to a close today.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has sought three more week’s time to discuss the bill.Several members are yet to express their views on the bill while over hundred members took part in the debate in both the houses.

Meanwhile, Speaker N. Manohar is expected to take a decision over the notice given by the Chief Minister seeking to reject the bill today.

YSR Congress and TDP members from Seemandhra region sat on Dharna in the assembly yesterday till late evening. They have been removed by force from the assembly hall after 7 hours of high drama.
