In West Bengal, an all party meeting which was convened by the State Government to discuss renaming of the State and reorganization of districts has failed to reach any consensus. After the meeting the Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee said in presence of the opposition leader Mr. Surya Kanta Mishra in Kolkata Wednesday afternoon that another round of all party meeting will be held on 19th of this month to discuss the issues. Miss Banerjee said that the leader of the House Mr. Partha Chatterjee and opposition leader Mr. Surya Kanta Mishra have been entrusted to take suggestions from intellectuals and linguists on renaming of the State. The meeting also discussed the need to bifurcate Burdwan, Jalpaiguri, West Midnapur and North 24-Parganas Districts for administrative conveniences. Nine Political parties having representatives in the State Assembly attended the meeting.
