State police emerging as one of best forces in the country: J&K CM

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has said that the state police is emerging as one of the best forces in the country adding that measures have been initiated to further modernize and train it as per the present day law and order scenario and militancy threats. He said that police force in Jammu and Kashmir has to face two different challenges of law and order and militancy simultaneously unlike most other police forces in the country. The Chief Minister was addressing the Attestation-cum-Passing Out Parade of Policewomen at Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy at Udhampur in Jammu Division. Congratulating the passing out women cadets, Omar highlighted the role of Police Women as pivotal in extending service to the women population in the State to safeguard and protect their rights. As many as 168 lady cadets passed out completing training in all aspects of police functioning.
