Just eight more days left for the date of polling in the State, National leaders of various parties are making their way to Tamilnadu. The UPA chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is also arriving in Chennai on Tuesday. Senior BJP, Left and other congress party leaders had also addressed various meetings and criticized both DMK run state government and the UPA’s lead centre. AIR correspondent reports, as the election day near, war of words between the main players of Tamilnadu politics M Karunanidhi and Jayalitha is getting more bitter. The party owned or directly associated TV channels are also intensely engaged in this war following their party line. The national leaders are also descending in the state. Congress president Sonia Gandhi is taking part in the campaign progamme at Chennai Tuesday afternoon. Party workers from both Congress and DMK are hoping that visit of Sonia Gandhi will improve DMK’s chances to retain power in the state. While the opposition parties are highlighting the omissions and commissions of the government, political observers believe that the battle likely to be tight.
