The Allahabad High Court has ruled that the State Government has no power to initiate a vigilance inquiry against the Chairman and member of the State Public Service Commission.A Division Bench comprising Justices P C Verma and Justice Jayashree Tiwari quashed a two-year-old order of the State Government on vigilance inquiry against the then Chairman and three members of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. The court also directed the state government to pay the former Chairman, Ram Sevak, all his post-retirement dues within two months.
