State budget for Chhattisgarh presented in Assembly

In Chhattisgarh, the State Budget for the financial year 2011-12 was presented in the Assembly today by the Chief Minister, Dr. Raman Singh who also holds the Finance portfolio. He said that the 30726 crore rupee budget has been prepared keeping in view the farmers, the poor and the SC and ST population. The budget estimate of the State for the coming financial year marks about 25 per cent increase over the budget for the current fiscal. The Chief Minister proposed to abolish all liquor shops in villages having less than 2000 population, ending of the professional tax and abolition of all the commercial check gates in the State for one year.
