Standoff on Women's Reservation Bill ends in Parliament; Government assures wider consultation before its introduction in Lok Sabha.<br/> <br/>The four day standoff on women reservation issue between the government and the parties opposing its provisions ended on Thursday after hectic consultations. <br/> <br/>After the parley's, Leader of the House in the Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee made a statement assuring members that all sections will be consulted before women's reservation Bill is introduced in the Lok Sabha. <br/> <br/>He expressed hope it would assuage the feelings of the members leading to restoration of normal business. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Mr Pranab Mukherjee held discussions with leaders of various political parties including SP, RJD, JDU and Trinomool Congress Chief to narrow down the differences on the women reservation issue and ensure smooth functioning of Parliament.<br/> <br/>Ahead of the meeting, pro and anti Women's Reservation parties were seen discussing the issue which rocked the Lok Sabha on 4th day. The Lok sabha was adjourned till 2 pm and the Rajya Sabha till noon. <br/> <br/>Now with the logjam over it is expected that the proceedings in Parliament will be smooth atleast in the first phase of the current session. <br/> <br/>Going by the mood of the Left parties the issue of price rise may once again hog the limelight on Saturday with Left set to press for suspension of question hour in both the Houses over price rise.<br/> <br/>Meanwhile, the BJP has clarified that all its party MPs will vote for Women's Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said that they do not however want the Marshals to be called in the Lok Sabha as was done in the Rajya Sabha. She was talking to the media after NDA Working Chairman L K Advani met party MPs at New Delhi last evening. <br/> <br/>Mrs Swaraj said, after the government holds an all party meeting to discuss the women's reservation bill, the BJP will issue a fresh whip to its members for voting.<br/> <br/>Earlier on Thursday, seven suspended members of the Rajya Sabha staged a Dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament complex seeking sub-quota for backward class and Muslims. <br/> <br/>Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley tendered an apology on behalf of the whole Opposition and sought withdrawal of the suspension. He was supported Sitaram Yechury of the CPIM. <br/><br/>
