Stalemate over government formation continues in Maharashtra as Congress and NCP yet to reach an agreement over portfolios

The deadlock over government formation in Maharashtra continued Wednesday even after 13 days of announcement of results of the 12th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections. Governor S C Jamir held separate meetings with caretaker chief minister Ashok Chavan and caretaker deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Tuesday to discuss the government formation issue. During the meeting, Mr Bhujbal assured the governor that NCP would support to the Ashok Chavan-led government. AIR correspondent reports that the delay in government formation is not sounding good for both Congress and NCP.
