In Andhra Pradesh, the stalemate over electoral alliance between the BJP and the TDP continued today, a day before the last day for filing nominations in Seemandhra region. BJP senior Leader Prakash Javadekar who is in Hyderabad since last evening held another round of talks with TDP President Chandrababu Naidu this morning.
The TDP has reportedly offered an additional Lok Sabha seat to BJP in exchange of six Assembly seats in the region. The trouble began yesterday after some of the TDP leaders aired their voice of dissent over giving key assembly constituencies to BJP as part of seat-sharing and raised concerns about political loss due to fielding of alleged weak candidates by the BJP in the region. A decision is expected by this afternoon over the seat sharing from both the parties.
Meanwhile, the local leaders of the two parties are making arrangements to file nominations from all the 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats in Seemandhra region as tomorrow is the last day for filing nominations.
