The stalemate over the sugarcane pricing issue has been resolved with the government agreeing to restore the old price structure. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal told reporters after an all party meeting on the issue in Parliament complex that the difference between the State Advised Prices and the Fair and Remunerative Price, FRP will be borne by the mill owners as was the case earlier.He said that government has decided to delete the controversial clause in the Sugar Control order. Mr Bansal said that the decision has been taken by the government keeping in view the interests of the farmers. The BJP leader Mrs Sushma Swaraj who represented her party at the meeting said that all parties have agreed to support an amended bill to be moved by the government on Monday to replace the Ordinance on FRP.She said that the resolution of the issue is the victory of democracy as well as the farmers movement. AIR correspondent reports that the issue had rocked both houses of Parliament leading to repeated adjournments . The sugar cane growers from UP and others states have been agitating over the issue by holding demonstrations in the capital.
