Stalemate in Par continues for 3rd day; Both houses adjourned for day

The stalemate in Parliament between the Opposition and the government continued for the third day today. The proceedings in both the Houses were disrupted during the pre-lunch session.

Both the Houses were adjourned till 2 P.M and later for the day as the BJP-led opposition stalled the proceedings, demanding the Prime Minister's resignation on the CAG report on coal block allocations. The Lok Sabha was initially adjourned till noon and later till 2 P.M and then for the day while the Rajya Sabha was adjourned thrice.

In the Lok Sabha, the BJP members supported by AIADMK and TDP rushed into the well shouting slogans. As the din continued, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House till 12 noon. Similar scenes prevailed when the House reassembled and the House was adjourned till 2 P.M.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed uproarious scenes on the same issue. It was first adjourned till noon, then for another half an hour and later till 2 P.M. When the Houses met at 2 pm, the secene was no different. Both the Houses were adjourned for the day.
