Proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament were stalled for the third day today on the issue of CAG report on coal block allocation.
The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha witnessed repeated disruptions before being adjourned finally for the day. Both houses witnessed uproarious scenes as the BJP-led opposition, demanded resignation of the Prime Minister.
The proceedings were stalled even after Rajya sabha Chairman Md. Hamid Ansari met leaders of political parties in his Chamber to resolve the stale mate between the opposition and the government. Speaker Meira Kumar had also called the leaders of political parties to her Chamber.
The Lok Sabha was initially adjourned till noon and later till 2 P.M. while the Rajya Sabha witnessed four repeated adjournments.
In the Lok Sabha, the BJP members supported by AIADMK and TDP rushed into the well shouting slogans. As the din continued, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House till 12 noon.
Similar scenes prevailed when the House reassembled at 2 pm and the House was finally adjourned for the day. Except for the laying of papers on the table both the houses could not transact any business.
The Rajya Sabha also witnessed uproarious scenes on the same issue. It was first adjourned till noon, then for another half an hour, then till 2 p.m and finally for the day.
