The stalemate over the Opposition demand for a JPC probe into 2G spectrum and other scams, continues as the All Parties' meeting held on Monday, could not come to a decision on the issue. The government’s proposal for a multi-disciplinary investigating agency along with the PAC, to go into the 2G spectrum issue, was rejected by the Opposition. The Leader of the Lok Sabha, Pranab Mukherjee told the meeting that he will consult the Prime Minister and get back to them. An All Party meeting held last week had also failed to arrive at an amicable solution to the stalemate. Justifying the demand for a JPC, BJP' spokesman S.S Ahluwalia said, JPC is more powerful as it can summon the present and past Ministers and the Prime Minister. Earlier, the issue rocked both Houses of Parliament for the seventh working day in a row on Monday, leading to their adjournment, first till noon and then for the day.
