Stalemate continues in formation of cabinet in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, the power sharing talks between Congress and NCP are still continuing, delaying the government formation even 12 days after the allies registered an impressive win in the state. The bargaining between both the parties over major portfolios and numbers of ministers from each party is creating a hurdle in the ministry formation. Chief minister-elect Ashok Chavan has said that both the parties are trying to reach a consensus before November 3, which is the deadline for ministry formation. In an event of a further delay, Mr Chavan and Mr Bhujbal would be sworn in along with some senior leaders and the alliance might go in for a ministerial expansion after a session of the legislature on Tuesday.<br/>
