In Karnataka, stalemate continues in the BJP over the selection of a new legislature party leader. Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had resigned after being indicted by the Lokayuktha report on illegal mining. BJP national leaders held a series of meetings in Bangalore to arrive at a consensus on the issue. State Party President K S Eeshwarappa told AIR that Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh are arriving again in Bangalore this evening to finalise Yeddyurappa's successor. He hoped that Legislative party meeting will be held tomorrow to elect the new leader.Governor H R Bharadwaj said he will give sufficient time for the Government to elect their new leader. Speaking on the sidelines of a President Police medal distribution function in Bangalore today, the Governor expressed confidence that the Lokayuktha is competent enough to prove the charges made in the report. He added that it is left to the new Chief Minister to take cognizance of Lokayuktha report submitted to the Government.
