Stage set for third phase election in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, tight security arrangements have been made for the third phase of elections scheduled to be held on Tuesday.<br/><br/>In this phase 11 of the remaining 41 constituencies will go to polls. Most of these constituencies are in the naxal infested areas.<br/><br/>Polling will start at 7 in the morning and will continue upto 3 p.m Director General of Police B. D. Ram said in view of maoist affected areas heavy deployment of forces have been made to ensure free and fair polls .<br/><br/>Jawans of central para military forces have been deployed on all polling booths to ensure trouble free polls.<br/><br/>He said the State police and Homeguards have also been engaged in election duties.<br/><br/>The Election Commission has appointed o5 observers and 335 micro observers to monitor election process.<br/><br/>Over 15 thousand polling staffs have been engaged for polling days.<br/><br/>The Joint Chief Electoral officer of Jharkhand A. K. Sinha told AIR that elaborate arrangements have been made for smooth polling.<br/><br/>AIR Ranchi correspondent reports that the state administration has appealed the electorates to turn out in large numbers to exercise their right of franchise without fear.<br/><br/>Over 25 lakhs 41 thousand voters will decide the electoral fortune of 239 candidates including 16female candidates. Important candidates whose fate will be decided includes Stephen Marandi of congress from Dumka, Gautam Sagar Rana of RJD from Bagodar,Shailendra Mahto of Janta Dal ( United) from Bokaro and Nalin Soren of JMM from Shikaripara.<br/>
