Stage set for final phase of WB Assembly elections tomorrow

In West Bengal, the stage is set for tomorrow's sixth and final phase of Assembly elections for 14 seats covering parts of West Midnapur, Bankura and Purulia districts. Arrangements are almost complete, voting will take place in maoist infected three districts from 7 am to 3 pm. Poll personnel have already left for their destination. Over 26 lakh 55 thousand voters will decide the political fate of 97 candidates. More than 3500 polling booths have been set up in three districts. The State Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Sunil Gupta told in Kolkata that all necessary steps have been taken for ensuring security of voters as well as for the conduct of peaceful poll. The Inter state border with Jharkhand and Orissa have been sealed to prevent the entry of unwanted persons during voting. Meanwhile, peaceful repolling is on at one polling booth at Khandokosh in Burdwan district. The Election Commission had ordered re-poll in this booth following technical snag in the electronic voting machine during Saturday's polls.
