Stage set for 6th phase of UP polls to be held tomorrow

In Uttar Pradesh, voters in 68 constituencies will exercise their franchise on Tuesday for the sixth phase of polling in the state. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the election. More than two crore voters of 13 districts of Western UP will decide the fate of 1103 candidates, out of them 86 are women candidates. After taking round of election bound 13 districts, the Deputy Election Commissioner, Mr. Vinod Jutshi has expressed satisfaction for Tuesday's poll arrangements.

22,237 polling stations have been made and polling parties have reached the polling centres by Monday evening. Police, PAC and Central para military force have already been deployed in the poll bound districts. Border areas close to Haryana and Delhi have been sealed.

Meanwhile, the campaign for the seventh and last phase touched its peak in the remaining 10 districts of the state. Several leaders addressed public meetings in different areas. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh addressed a public meeting at Amroha in Jyotiba Phule Nagar on Monday. In his speech Dr. Manmohan Singh criticised the BSP government for misrule and misuse of Central funds provided for Uttar Pradesh.

The election machinery has geared up and ready for poll. Fate of 1103 candidates including many stalwarts of western U.P will be decided in the election. More than two core voters could exercise their franchise for 68 candidates of Meerut, Saharanpur Agra and Aligarh divisions. Video tracking will be carried out in many sensitive polling centers.

More than twenty two thousand polling stations have been made and voters help desk will be available at all polling stations. Strict vigilance are being kept in interstate and inter-district borders. Vehicles at borders are being checked thoroughly.
