Stage set for 5th phase of LS polls in 12 states & Odisha Assembly tomorrow

The country will witness elections in the maximum number of Lok Sabha seats in a single day in the 5th phase tomorrow.

Polling will be held in 121 seats across 12 states and with this the Lok Sabha elections will cross the half-way mark in the more than a month-long exercise.

Polling will take place in all 28 seats in Karnataka, 20 in Rajasthan, 19 in Maharashtra, 11 each in Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Bihar, 6 in Jharkhand, 4 in West Bengal, 3 in Chhattisgarh and one each in Jammu and Kashmir and Manipur.

More than 16 crore voters are eligible to exercise franchise in tomorrow's phase to decide the electoral fortunes of 1,769 candidates.

So far polling has been held in 111 Lok Sabha constituencies in four phases.

In the last substantial round 91 seats went to polls on April 10.

Polling will also be held tomorrow for 77 Odisha Assembly seats.
