In Uttar Pradesh, 13 Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel, including the Deputy Commandant of Lakhimpur Kheri-based 39 battalion, have been suspended. Quoting official sources, AIR Lucknow correspondent reports they have been suspended in connection with the death of two villagers in SSB firing in the district on 2nd of this month. One SSB constable is already in jail in this connection. The State Government has alleged that SSB personnel did not have any coordination with the locals due to which a number of incidents of clashes had taken place between them in past.
