Sashastra Seema Bal has been successful in ensuring the surrender of 51 naxals and seizure of 125 weapons and 135 kg explosives in the last two years .<br/><br/>The force also recovered 64 kg IED and nearly 40 thousand detonators from the apprehended naxals during the period. <br/><br/>Speaking to media in New Delhi, on her last day in office, SSB DG, Archana Ramasundaram said that there was unprecedented action against trans-border crimes and trafficking in narcotics, wildlife, fake Indian currency notes and human trafficking last year. <br/><br/>She said that more than 4700 criminals were apprehended in 2016 as against 3500 in 2015 by the SSB. The DG said, modern and technologically advanced equipments like UAV, explosive and narcotics detectors and laser fencing systems were introduced in the SSB during her tenure.
