The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) elected new office bearers in the 82nd Annual General Meeting 2011 (AGM 2011), held on Monday in Mumbai. Narayanaswami Srinivasan took over as the chief of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from incumbent Shashank Manohar on Monday after its Annual General Meeting. Srinivasan, who, has served as the Secretary and Treasurer of BCCI earlier, is also president of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. Sanjay Jagdale was unanimously selected as Honorary Secratary of the Board. Rajeev Shukla was announced as new Cahirman of Indian Premier League. He replaces Chirayu Amin. Among others incharge of IPL are Arun Jaitley, Anirudh Choudhary, Ganga Raju, Sanjay Patel and Amitabh Choudhary. Kris Srikkanth, the current chief of selectors, will have his term extended for another year.Mohinder Amarnath the former India all rounder, will join the BCCI's national selection panel as the representative from the North Zone. Amarnath replaces former India batsman Yashpal Sharma, whose two-year term ended, while all the other selectors have been retained. The rest of the panel, comprising Narendra Hirwani (Central Zone), Raja Venkat (East Zone) and Surendra Bhave (West Zone), has been retained.Meanwhile, the new BCCI president N.Srinivasan announced that because of the irremedial breach committed by the Kochi franchise, the BCCI has decided to encash the bank guarantee in their possession and also terminate the franchise.
