Srinagar-Jammu national highway remains closed for 3rd consecutive day

<span style="color: #222222;">In Jammu & Kashmir, the Srinagar Jammu national highway remained closed for the 3rd consecutive day for vehicular traffic due to bad weather.   Meteorological Department predicted that weather will improve from today. Officials said fresh landslides hit the highway at Battery Chashma stretch in Ramban district along the highway.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Officials said almost all stranded passenger vehicles and fruit trucks going from Kashmir towards Jammu for onward journey to terminal markets, were cleared till late last night.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The highway was scheduled to re-open for vehicular traffic from Srinagar to Jammu today. Authorities have restored electricity in many areas across Kashmir as heavy snowfall damaged electric transmission lines and transformers. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Heavy snowfall also  damaged fruit orchards and crops in south, central and northern areas of Kashmir. This was the season's first but unexpected  snowfall in Kashmir region.</span><br />
