Srikanth, Prannoy crash out of Malaysian Open

In Badminton, K. Srikanth and HS Prannoy today crashed out of the Malaysian Open in the opening round. While Srikanth went down fighting Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand, 21-23, 21-9, 10-21, Prannoy lost to Kento Momota, the third seeded Japanese, in straight games, 19-21, 20-22.PV Sindhu, however, progressed to the second round. She defeated China's Bingjiao He, 21-16, 21-17. Third placed Saina Nehwal will play her first round match later in the day. She will meet Thai, Nitchaon Jindapol. Ajay Jayaram and the pair of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy will also be seen in action in the opening round.
