Tourism and Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma has said, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's cultural festival in the national capital is a good occasion to showcase the Indian culture to the world. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr Sharma said, people from different countries are coming to participate in the event and they should be welcomed. <br/><br/>He, however, said the security and environment issues should also be taken into consideration while organizing the event. Mr Sharma was asked about the controversies swirling around the event. <br/><br/>The World Culture Festival, set to start on Friday, has come under scanner for allegedly violating environmental norms as it erects a massive facility on the Yamuna floodplains. Reports say, Delhi police has also raised security concerns over the event.
