<span style="color: #222222;">Amid the growing crisis in Sri Lanka Cricket, Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe today told the Parliament that he was pressured by the President to withdraw the interim committee led by Arjuna Ranatunga. He added that he will make a special address on the status of corruption in the Sri Lankan Cricket Board and related issues. Mr. Ranasinghe had dissolved the island nation's cricketing board and appointed an interim committee to oversee the Sri Lanka cricket. Local news reports state that the move came in the wake of a series of losses that have drawn intense scrutiny from the Cricket Board. Joining Ranatunga are retired Supreme Court Justices, M I M Imam and Rohini Marasinghe, retired High Court Justice Iranganie Perera, as well as Upali Dharmadasa, Rakitha Rajapaksa, and Hisham Jamaldeen.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Under Sri Lanka's own Sports Law, however, the government has the power to dissolve the governing body of any sport. Meanwhile, there was criticism of the move as the leader of the opposition had pointed to divided opinions within the government on the issue. Yesterday, the Sri Lankan cabinet appointed a 4 member committee led by Foreign Minister M.U.M Ali Sabry to decide on the issue.</span><br />
