The letter added that as per the advice by the President, it is not possible at this point of time to state that the election cannot be held on or before 28th of May. The response came as parliamentary elections, scheduled for 25th of this month, were postponed in wake of COVID-19 outbreak. <br />''<br />''The parliament was dissolved by Presidential gazette on 2nd of March and as such, the new parliament is mandated to meet before 2nd of June, which election commission has termed unlikely in wake of COVID-19 situation.
