Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena walked out of the Cabinet meeting held this morning after making an emotional speech over the personal attacks against him by certain members of United National Party. <br/><br/><br/>A senior Cabinet Minister told local media that President spoke for about half an hour to the members of the Cabinet and left the meeting feeling dejected and disappointed. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is also UNP leader and several ministers spoke to the President and persuaded him to come back and participate in the Cabinet meeting. <br/>'<br/>The incident assumes significance as President-led Sri Lankan Freedom Pa(SLFP) and UNP are contesting against each other during local elections scheduled for 10th of next month, though both parties are in unity government at national level. <br/><br/>Tensions between the two parties have grown in recent times with SLFP accusing UNP of involvement in bond scam while the latter attacking President of indulging in cheap politics.<br/>
