<span style="color: #222222;">Srilankan President Maithripala Sirisena today said that he will never allow any agreements to be signed with foreign nations that would harm the country while he is still in office. <br />''<br />''Addressing a program in Monoragala, the President said, it is being reported by the media that the government is going to sign various foreign agreements which would betray the country.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that there is talk about the Status Of Forces Agreement (SOFA), there is talk about an agreement with Millennium Challenge Corporation and also talk about a Lands Bill, which they say is not suitable for the country.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The President asserted that he will not allow such a thing to happen. He said that certain foreign powers are attempting to turn Sri Lanka into their hub or a center for certain activities and that they want to use this land for their own purposes.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Sirisena emphasized that he will not allow the signing of any agreement that would allow any foreign power or foreign country to interfere or harm the country's sovereignty.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">His comments came as US government and some sections of government have been pushing for these agreements while safeguarding Srilankan sovereignty.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
